Agartala March 14: State-wise program was held at Muktdhara Auditorium to mark International Women’s Day-2023 on Tuesday. Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tinku Roy inaugurated the event. Department Secretary Tapas Roy, Women Commission Chairperson Barnali Goswami, Director L Hrankhawl and others were present.

Many girls have become financially independent through self-help groups. Men have to work with them as equal partners. Speaking at the event, Minister Tinku Roy said. He also said that only three MLAs were elected in the 2018 elections. The number of female legislators in this year’s assembly is nine. Out of 60 members, 9 are women members. He said that this is the change of the state. Women are handling major central ministries. But even after that there are some sporadic incidents. Minister Tinku Roy advised to work on those issues.
