Agartala March 26: The Great Independence Day and National Day of Bangladesh were celebrated with due dignity at the office of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala on Sunday. Arif Mohammad, Assistant High Commissioner of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office at Agartala, hoisted the national flag of Bangladesh first this morning.

Later Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner Arif Mohammad, First Secretary of Assistant High Commission Rezaul Haque Chowdhury and others offered wreaths to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In an interview, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission’s office in Agartala, Arif Mohammad said that March 26 is the great independence day of Bangladesh. Today the day is celebrated in two parts. A special prayer is organized on this day for those who were martyred in the war of 1971. Also, a cultural program and discussion meeting has been organized in a private hotel this evening.
