The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will begin district-level training programmes for its workers in Tripura from Wednesday under the nationwide Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Prasikshan Maha Abhiyan, state BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty announced on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Chakraborty said the BJP has almost completed its mandal-level training and digital learning sessions across the state. Training has already been conducted in 55 mandals, while the remaining sessions will be completed alongside the upcoming district-level programme.

He informed that the first phase of the district-level training will begin in Gomati district, South Tripura district and the Sepahijala South organisational district. The second phase will cover the Sadar Rural, Sadar Urban and Sepahijala North organisational districts on August 8, 9 and 10, followed by programmes in Unakoti, North Tripura, Khowai and Dhalai districts on August 11, 12 and 13.

According to Chakraborty, each district-level training programme will span three days and two nights, during which party workers will receive intensive training on 12 subjects identified by the BJP leadership. The initiative is aimed at strengthening organisational skills, enhancing ideological understanding and improving grassroots coordination ahead of future political and organisational activities.

He said BJP Tripura President Abhishek Debroy will inaugurate the training programme in Gomati district. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is also expected to attend the sessions after returning from New Delhi.

The spokesperson further said several senior national leaders and experienced trainers will participate in the programme. Among them are the BJP’s central observer Dr. Rajdeep Roy, General Secretary (Organisation) Rabindra Raju, and national trainers Guru Prakash Paswan, Raj Kumar Sharma and Hemant Goswami, who will conduct interactive sessions with party workers.

Chakraborty noted that the mandal-level training programmes recorded nearly 90 per cent attendance, reflecting enthusiastic participation from party workers. For the district-level sessions, the BJP expects around 1,400 to 1,500 participants, with approximately 150 trainees attending each training camp.

Also present at the press conference were BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee, Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, and the party’s media in-charge Sunit Sarkar.

The training campaign forms part of the BJP’s nationwide effort to strengthen its organisational structure, improve cadre development and prepare party workers for future responsibilities at both the grassroots and state levels.
