Agartala: April 04: Durga Bari witnessed a grand celebration of Basanti Puja this year, continuing its tradition of religious fervor and devotion. On Maha Saptami, a significant day of the festival, a large number of devotees gathered at the Durga Bari mandap to participate in the rituals.
Basanti Puja, a special form of Durga Puja observed in the month of Chaitra, holds a unique place among Hindus and Bengalis. While the grand Durga Puja is celebrated in Ashwin, Basanti Puja carries its own charm and significance. This year, as in previous years, the festival was conducted under a government initiative at Durga Bari.
The celebrations formally began on Thursday with the Bodhon ritual, and Maha Saptami saw a massive turnout of devotees. Yesterday marked Maha Ashtami, another key day of the festival. Apart from Durga Bari, Basanti Puja was also observed in various clubs across the state, alongside the traditional Durga Puja of Ashwin.
The arrangements for the festival were noted to be seamless, with rituals performed with full devotion and discipline, ensuring a spiritually enriching experience for all attendees.
