According to Tapas Das, the Officer-in-Charge of the GRP station, confidential information was received regarding their arrival at Agartala Railway Station. Acting promptly on this tip-off, GRP conducted an operation, where the two women were questioned and reportedly admitted to crossing the border illegally. A formal case has been registered against them, and officials have confirmed that the detainees will be presented in court today, seeking police custody for further investigation.

Illegal cross-border movement into Tripura has been a persistent concern, with brokers allegedly facilitating these activities despite strict surveillance and border security measures. Yesterday, four other Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at the same railway station, highlighting the ongoing issue of unauthorized entries into the state.

Further investigations have revealed that the two women were planning to travel to Mumbai via Kolkata, raising questions about the broader implications of such movements. Authorities continue to scrutinize these cases to address the challenges posed by illegal crossings into the region.
