Agartala: Mar 24: With the initiative of Ompi CHC District Level Awareness Programme On TB Day 2024 has been conducted here in Ampi Nagar town hall in Gomati Tripura today. On this occasion villagers from different locations, Asha workers, Angwanadi centre workers and Ompi CHC staff have taken active participation in the programme. Following the theme, “Yes! We can #end TB by 2025” the programme has generated essential awareness and provided TB preventive tips amidst the local indigenous and non indigenous participants of the programme. Under the able guidance & supervision of Ompi CHC in charge Dr. Satyajit Paul, MOIC, the event has been beautified in several segments including cultural. To make the people understand over the reason of Tuberculosis and its prevention essential medical tips have been discussed widely by the district medical officers in this World TB Day awareness programme. Addressing the participants the programme chief guest Dr. Kamal Reang, CMO has said, “Our fundamental goal is to eradicate this killer TB disease from society by 2025. To demolish the tendency of TB we have important responsibilities to implement and we have to accelerate our promptness as well as create sufficient awareness amidst the rural inhabitants of Tripura. Narcotic substances are defiling our society and leading our youths to wrong direction. Various drugs are promoting tuberculosis including other diseases. We have to protect our youngsters from different kinds of life destructive drugs.” Amidst the other distinguished participants there were Dr. Saumik Chakraborty, district TB officer, Dr. Victor Deb of Ompi CHC and many others remained present in the programme.
