Ambassa, Nov 11 — The Amra Bangali party, through its Dhalai district committee, submitted a deputation to the Chief Minister of Tripura via the Dhalai District Magistrate on Tuesday, urging immediate action on seven key public interest issues following the recent unrest in Santirbazar.

The delegation stated that their demands stem from the October 23 violence during a 24-hour Tripura bandh reportedly called by civil society groups. The party strongly condemned the attacks on local traders and administrative officials in Santirbazar and demanded the identification and strict punishment of those responsible for the violence.

Among the key demands, Amra Bangali called for the state government to bear the full medical expenses of those injured in the incidents. They also sought compensation for affected shop owners — proposing ₹40 lakh for those severely impacted and ₹10 lakh for those with minor damages, based on official assessments.

To strengthen law and order, the party urged the government to establish a permanent police picket or TSR (Tripura State Rifles) camp near the Santirbazar market area. It also demanded an immediate halt to the issuance of new licenses for alcohol and drug-related businesses in the region, along with strict action against individuals engaged in such illegal activities.

The memorandum further recommended block-level development initiatives to ensure 100 percent employment for local residents and called for an end to what it described as “historical distortions and divisive propaganda.” The party emphasized the need to restore communal harmony and mutual respect among communities to maintain peace and unity across the state.

After submitting the deputation, Amra Bangali representatives visited Santirbazar, met with affected traders and residents, and reaffirmed their commitment to securing justice and relief for the victims of the recent violence.
