Agartala: Jan 09: On January 16, the All India Youth Congress (AIYC) will hold a regional youth convention in Tripura, focusing on the Northeast region. The event will feature key figures, including AIYC President Uday Bhanu Chib and other prominent leaders, as confirmed by Assistant In-Charge Jisan Ahmed during a press conference.
Jisan Ahmed stated that the convention would cover various organizational aspects of the Youth Congress in the Northeast. The discussion will include strategies for strengthening the party and engaging youth in the region, which has seen a growing demand for political involvement among young people.
Pradesh Youth Congress President Nilkamal Saha also spoke about the significance of the upcoming event. He raised concerns over the difficulties the party is facing in securing a venue for the convention. According to Saha, the government is obstructing the Youth Congress’s efforts to hold the event at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan, a prominent hall in the region. He claimed that the government’s interference is an attempt to hinder the democratic process and free expression, undermining the rights of youth organizations to organize events in public spaces.
The Youth Congress views the upcoming convention as a crucial step in expanding its influence and strengthening its base in the Northeast, an area that has historically been a challenge for many political parties. Despite the challenges, the leadership is determined to hold the event and ensure that the voices of the region’s youth are heard and represented within the party’s organizational structure. The convention aims to foster greater unity and mobilize youth in support of the Congress’s vision for the country.
