Agartala, May 27 — Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar assured residents today that the city is fully prepared to handle the potential disaster caused by Cyclone ‘Remal.’ As continuous rain falls across the state due to the cyclone’s impact, water is accumulating in various areas of Agartala.
Mayor Deepak Majumdar, accompanied by Corporator Ratna Dutta, inspected the drainage system to ensure that the pumps responsible for water discharge are functioning properly. Speaking to reporters, Mayor Majumdar emphasized the urgency of addressing the heavy rainfall and ensuring proper water drainage.
The Municipal Corporation has taken proactive steps to deal with natural disasters, including hiring additional workers and maintaining various water pump machines. However, the ongoing thunderstorm has led to power issues in the state, affecting the operation of water pumps. Despite these challenges, the Municipal Corporation remains committed to safeguarding residents and mitigating the impact of Cyclone ‘Remal.’
