Agartala: August 08: An interim government is set to be formed in Bangladesh. Consequently, key projects such as the Maitri Bridge at Sabrum, the Agartala-Akhaura rail link, and air services on the Agartala-Chittagong route have come to a halt. However, there is a strong belief that the central government will take the necessary steps to address these issues. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury discussed the current situation in Bangladesh today.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury described the recent incident in Bangladesh as extremely unfortunate, stating that it has tarnished civilized society. The Indian government has strongly condemned the incident. He emphasized the historically friendly relationship between India and Bangladesh, noting that barbed wire fences cannot separate the two nations. He suggested that foreign forces might be conspiring to disrupt this relationship, but expressed confidence that time will reveal the truth.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury further stated that no democratic government would support actions against an elected government, and reiterated the Indian government’s strong condemnation of the incident. He mentioned that a reactionary force has projected a negative image of Bengal to the world.
Regarding the Maitri Bridge at Sabrum and the Agartala-Akhaura rail link, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury noted that the policy of the upcoming interim government in Bangladesh remains uncertain. He affirmed that India has never collaborated with foreign forces in a negative capacity.
