Agartala: Jan 01: On the first day of the English New Year, the state government made another significant move to develop the tourism sector. On Wednesday, the Tripura Tourism Department officially launched a 16-seater state-of-the-art Urbania bus and recreational paddle boats at the Ujjayanta Palace lake in Agartala. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing the experience for tourists. The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury.

During the event at Ujjayanta Palace, Minister Chowdhury addressed the gathering, stating that the government has a modern and innovative vision for the state’s tourism sector. He highlighted that the government is now focusing on addressing smaller aspects of tourism that had previously been overlooked. These efforts are aimed at bringing the state’s tourism to the global stage. As part of this initiative, recreational paddle boats were introduced in the Ujjayanta Palace lake, with ten boats launched initially. The government plans to add a total of 100 boats in the coming months across various large water bodies in the state, including Chhimtuipui, Narkelkunj, and Neermahal. This expansion is expected to make the state’s tourist centers more attractive to visitors.
