Agartala: Mar 13: In a concerning turn of events, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has taken to the streets to protest the tragic suicide of JS Siddharthan, a second-year student at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. The incident, which occurred on February 18, has sent shockwaves across the country and within college and university campuses in the state.
JS Siddharthan’s lifeless body was discovered in the bathroom of the Wayanad campus hostel. The investigation revealed horrifying details: the student had allegedly suffered severe torture at the hands of Students Federation of India (SFI) members. These SFI goons reportedly beat Siddharthan mercilessly with wires and belts, leaving her battered and stripped of her clothes. Disturbingly, after the assault, Siddharthan was forced to parade naked within the hostel premises.
In response to this gruesome incident, ABVP units in Kerala have rallied together, demanding justice for Siddharthan. Their protests highlight the continued involvement of SFI members in criminal activities. ABVP Tripura Pradesh has also joined the chorus, condemning the reprehensible actions of SFI goons within college and university campuses in Tripura.
Shri Sanjit Saha, the State Secretary of ABVP Tripura Pradesh, expressed deep concern over the tragedy. He emphasized that ABVP has raised its voice not only in Kerala but also across educational institutions nationwide. The incident has left the ABVP community saddened and appalled. According to Saha, the SFI’s violent activities are tarnishing the once-clean and hygienic campus environment. ABVP firmly believes that SFI’s actions undermine democracy in education and promote an atmosphere of anarchy and hooliganism.
ABVP demands swift justice for Siddharthan’s family and urges authorities to take strict action against the SFI goons responsible for this heart-wrenching loss. The tragic suicide has ignited a nationwide conversation about student safety, accountability, and the urgent need to address violence within educational institutions. As investigations continue, the ABVP remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice for JS Siddharthan and all students affected by such incidents.
