Health and Family Welfare Minister, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, conveyed this development during a session in the state assembly. In response to a query posed by MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Dr. Saha revealed that the state administration has formally submitted the proposal to the central government. The envisioned medical college would cater specifically to the healthcare needs of the tribal population residing in the TTAADC area.

While the proposal awaits approval, the selection of a suitable site for the medical college remains a priority. The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and fostering education in underserved regions.

The establishment of this medical college holds immense potential for addressing healthcare disparities and nurturing a skilled healthcare workforce within the tribal community.
