Tuesday, February 13:Ajay Bhowmik, a resident of Madhuban Jharjharia area under the Sadar subdivision in Tripura, has raised serious allegations of forgery. According to Bhowmik, he has been served a notice by the Tripura OBC Co-operative Development Corporation Limited, claiming that he had taken a loan of Rs 2 lakh 85 thousand from the corporation a decade ago. Shockingly, the outstanding amount has now escalated to Rs 4 lakh 42 thousand 244. The notice demands prompt repayment.
Bhowmik vehemently denies ever availing a loan from the OBC Corporation. Perplexed by the situation, he wonders why his name was associated with this financial transaction. Desperate to resolve the matter, Bhowmik is currently navigating bureaucratic channels to clear his name. His suspicion is that someone has misused his identity to secure the loan, leaving him entangled in this legal predicament.
The illiterate Bhowmik admits he is unfamiliar with the workings of the OBC Corporation. A decade ago, a certain Balai from the Maheshkhala area allegedly persuaded him to open a bank account and apply for a loan. Bhowmik distinctly recalls declining the loan offer. Now, he speculates that Balai might have fraudulently used his name to obtain the loan. When confronted, Balai denied any involvement in such a transaction.
Expressing frustration, Bhowmik insists that a thorough investigation by the OBC Corporation prior to disbursing the loan could have averted this crisis. Determined to seek justice, he plans to approach the court. Bhowmik demands a comprehensive inquiry into the matter and legal action against the perpetrator behind this forgery.
As the investigation unfolds, the truth behind this troubling incident remains uncertain.
