Agartala: Feb 02: On Friday, the Border Security Force (BSF) carried out two significant operations in Tripura, resulting in the seizure of 220 kg of dry cannabis and valuable clothing items worth Rs 48,25,500.
In the first operation, acting on a tip-off, a BSF team conducted a raid at a residence in the Jalai Bari area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sidhai police station. During the operation, they successfully confiscated the substantial quantity of dry cannabis. The estimated market value of the seized cannabis stands at Rs 33 lakh.
In the second operation, BSF personnel apprehended a smuggler near the Karamtala Border Outpost (BOP), situated along NH-8 in the South Tripura district. Along with the arrest, they also seized a collection of valuable clothes.
The BSF emphasized that these operations are part of their ongoing efforts to combat smuggling activities along the India-Bangladesh border. Their vigilance remains steadfast in ensuring security and preventing illicit trade in the region.
