Agartala: Dec 27: Tripura Government today announced 12 percent Dearness Allowance for all the government employees and retired employees despite paucity of funds, as informed by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha.
In a press conference at Secretariat here in Agartala today, Chief Minister said state government took decision that 12 percent of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for government employees and retired employees with effect from December 01, 2022 would benefit 1,04,600 regular employees and 80,800 pensioners/ families. After the release of the 12 percent  DA/DR, the total DA/DR now stands 20 percent.
He also announced another major decision over 50 percent hike in remuneration of DRWs, MRWs, PTWs and Contingent workers. The decision would benefit 8600 workers in various categories.
An additional amount of Rs 1440 crore would be required annually to implement both the decisions, he said.    The state government has revised the pay scale based on 7th CPC on 1st October 2018. An additional 12% dearness allowance will be paid on the revised basic pay. As a result of which more than one lakh four thousand six hundred regular employees and more than 80 thousand eight hundred pensioner families of the state will benefit. In addition to regular government employees and pensioners, the government has made another announcement from Secretariat. The Chief Minister also increased the salary of DRW, MRW and PTW workers by about 50 percent. By doing this, DRW Great-C used to get a monthly salary of Rs 7 thousand 20 rupees. Now they will get Rs10 thousand 920. D.R.W.Technical used to get monthly salary of Rs 7 thousand 280, now they will get Rs11 thousand 180. D.R.W Groof-D was getting monthly salary of Rs 6 thousand 458 40 paisa, from now they will get Rs10010.

Permanent laborers used to get monthly salary of Rs6 thousand 718.40, now they will get Rs10 thousand 270. Mr. W. Groof-D used to get a monthly salary of Rs7 thousand 344, now they will get Rs11 thousand 380. The head priests used to get a monthly salary of Rs 8 thousand 944, now they will get Rs 11 thousand 380. Adhikari used to get monthly salary of Rs 8 thousand 654, now they will get Rs12 thousand 690. Part time workers i.e. those who work for 4 hours used to get a monthly salary of Rs 5 thousand 900, now they will get Rs 8 thousand 900, part time workers i.e. those who work for 3 hours used to get a monthly salary of Rs 5 thousand 670, now they will get Rs 8 thousand. Rs 1 thousand 670, Part time workers i.e. those who work for 2 hours, they used to get a monthly salary of Rs 5 thousand 450, now they will get Rs 8 thousand 450. Rural chokidars used to get a monthly salary of  Rs 6,700 taka, now they will get Rs10,100.

School mothers used to get Rs 4,850 per month, now they will get Rs 7,450. Purhit, Chantai, Pradhan Chandi Pathak, Pachak, Pujaris used to get monthly salary of 6 thousand 990 rupees, now they will get 10 thousand 500 rupees. Gardeners, guards, sweepers, gardeners used to get a monthly salary of 5 thousand 940 rupees, now they will get 9 thousand 140 rupees. Adult literacy teachers used to get a monthly salary of 4 thousand 181 Rs 60 paisa, now they will get 6 thousand 420 Rs. Part time instructors used to get a monthly salary of 4 thousand 71.60, now they will get 6 thousand 310 rupees. Community health guides used to get a monthly salary of 4 thousand 71.60, now they will get 6 thousand 310 rupees. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha claimed that about 6,800 irregular workers will benefit from this.

As a result of the state government’s announcement today, the state government will spend about Tk 1,440 crore annually. All together about 1 lakh 94 thousand families will be benefited. Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Debbarma was present with the Chief Minister in this day’s press conference. He said that the state government wants overall development. An increase in dearness allowance will strengthen the market. People will get money. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed the opinion that people from all sections of society will benefit from this country. Chief Secretary JK Sinha, who was present at the press conference, said that the salary scale of the central government is currently 38 percent. The state government has announced twenty percent dearness allowance in the last five years.
