Agartala: On Tuesday evening, six Bangladeshi nationals attempting to board a flight to Kolkata from MBB Airport in Agartala were apprehended. Police officials investigating the case reported that none of the detainees could provide valid documents proving their Indian citizenship.

Sub Inspector Abhijit Mandal of the Airport Police Station stated, “We received a tip from our sources about individuals loitering in and around MBB Airport. Swift action was taken, resulting in the detention of all six individuals.” He further revealed that during questioning, they admitted to unlawfully entering Indian territory with the intention of reaching Kolkata. “Initially, they denied being from Bangladesh but were unable to substantiate their claims of being Indian citizens with valid documents,” Mandal explained. All of them have been presented in court on charges of violating the Passport Act.
