Udaipur: Superintendent of Police Gomati District Namit Pathak today reviewed the security requirements for the Tripura Sundari temple ahead of Deepavali festival slated on November 12 next. Lakhs of devotees gather at the temple premises on the night of Deepavali when a three day long festival and fair is also organized. Given the quantum of the crowds on the occasion, tight security arrangements are also needed to be put in place to avert unwarranted incidents. In view of the ensuing festival, high level police officials of the district led by SP Namit Pathak reviewed the temple premises to ascertain what sort security interventions are needed to be undertaken. Speaking on the issue, a senior police officials said, “A lot of makeshift constructions are required such as setting up watch towers, naka points and entry and exit points for devotees, VIPs and other people scheduled to come on the occasion of the festival. So a primary review of the temple area is a must because after the new construction, the overall situation of the temple has changed dramatically”. A high level meeting under stewardship of District Magistrate Gomati District is slated to held within a few days. Locals MLAs including Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy are also supposed to remain present at the high level meeting.
