According to the Chief Minister, the university is the laboratory of the future. We cannot think of a university without research. So research should be part of university curriculum. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the curriculum of our education system should emphasize on the possible ways to save the ecosystem. The new National Education Policy-2020 has given special emphasis on the virtues of Indian traditional knowledge. The values of stable living are ingrained in our tradition.

On this day, he said, it is possible to revive the spirit of living through the values of life embedded in our ancient wisdom. In this regard, India can lead the world through its rich culture. The Chief Minister said that the entire northeastern states including Tripura are rich in natural resources. There are also numerous ecological hotspots. He urged the Tripura University to come forward in implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policy of ‘Vocal for Local’, keeping in view the diverse rich cultural, ethnic, environmental and natural resources of the region.

He claims, the country’s traditional rich ancient Ayurveda has grown in the lap of our forests. Tripura has many forest areas. These forests are likely to contain many valuable herbs. He expressed hope that the students of Tripura University might one day be able to discover this valuable herb.
