Agartala, September 29: Tollywood actor-producer Dev on Tuesday said his production house, Dev Entertainment Ventures, was keen to provide opportunities to talented artistes and technicians from Tripura and explore the state’s scenic locations for future film projects.
Dev made the remarks while interacting with mediapersons at Rupasi SSR here during his visit to Agartala to promote his directorial debut DeSu7.
Asked about talented people from Tripura who have limited opportunities to showcase their skills in the entertainment industry, Dev said his production house had consistently encouraged newcomers and was willing to consider talent from the state.
“My production house — Dev Entertainment Venture — has always given opportunities to young and talented people. You can search on the internet. In fact, in DeSu7, a talented YouTuber has been given an opportunity,” he said.
He invited aspiring artistes and technicians to approach his team with their ideas and work.
“We are ready to have new talent on board. I shall leave my contact; anyone who is interested in pitching something can contact our team. No matter in which field the individual is looking for an opportunity, be it camera, script, acting or any other field,” Dev said.
The actor-producer also expressed interest in exploring Tripura as a shooting destination, saying filmmakers needed to discover new locations within India.
“Today the ticket prices have increased substantially. The audience wants to watch something new. As a producer, it is my responsibility to explore new locations which are within our country,” he said.
Dev said his team had travelled to Ladakh for shooting and indicated that discussions on exploring locations in Tripura would be held during his visit.
Speaking about DeSu7, Dev said the film was aimed at recreating the nostalgia associated with his pairing with actor Subhasree Ganguly, while reflecting the changes in filmmaking over the years.
“The people who had watched our films from the initial days have now grown up and engaged in different professional jobs. In this intervening period, the language of filmmaking has changed. The craft has evolved substantially,” he said.
Dev said the film sought to reconnect with audiences who had developed an emotional bond with the pair over the years.
Subhasree, who also briefly addressed the media, thanked the people of Tripura for their warmth and affection during their visit.
DeSu7 is scheduled to release on October 16 during the Durga Puja festivities.
