AGARTALA, SEPTEMBER 8: Tripura-based technology startup Fueler has built a community of 1,40,000 registered members as it expands its platform connecting young professionals and skilled talent with organisations and work opportunities.
Founded by Agartala entrepreneur Riten Debnath, the platform targets students, freelancers, creators, designers, marketers and early-career professionals seeking to establish their professional identity through portfolios of completed work.
Fueler’s model centres on what it calls “proof of work”, enabling users to present projects, internships, freelance assignments, marketing campaigns, case studies and personal initiatives as evidence of their skills.
The company said the model is aimed at addressing a growing demand among employers and clients for practical evidence of a candidate’s capabilities alongside conventional qualifications and resumes.
Over the past few years, Fueler has expanded its network through collaborations with startups, agencies, educational platforms and creators. The company said its partnerships serve a dual purpose — helping organisations identify suitable talent while providing members with opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
Its network includes collaborations with GrowthX, Growth School, LEAP, Scaler, Flexiple, Buzzlab, Inagiffy, Owled, Topmate and FinFloww.
The startup has also collaborated with creators such as Ansh Mehra, Vaibhav Sisinty, Sindu Biswal and Ishan Sharma, among others, to expand access to career-related projects and professional networks.
According to Fueler, members of its community are working with companies and organisations including Microsoft, PayPal, GitLab, YourStory, Scaler, Cautio, Ugaoo, HackerRank and AppsForBharat.
Debnath said the changing nature of recruitment is creating greater scope for candidates to demonstrate skills through actual work rather than relying entirely on traditional credentials.
The founder has also highlighted the geographic dimension of the startup’s growth. While India’s major technology hubs continue to dominate the startup landscape, Fueler has been built from Tripura and has developed a user base and professional network extending across the country.
“Talent is everywhere. Opportunity, however, is often unevenly distributed,” Debnath said.
The company said it will focus on expanding its community, strengthening industry partnerships and creating additional avenues for members to participate in projects and demonstrate their skills.
Fueler’s growth comes amid increasing interest in Tripura’s emerging startup ecosystem, with locally founded technology ventures seeking to build products, communities and business networks with a national footprint.
