The Chief Minister also sought NITI Aayog’s support in several priority sectors, particularly school education, tourism, sports and the startup ecosystem. He said focused intervention and institutional assistance in these areas could play a significant role in strengthening Tripura’s economic prospects while creating better opportunities for its people.

School education remains crucial for improving human resource development, while tourism holds considerable potential for generating employment and strengthening the state economy. The discussions also highlighted the importance of promoting sports and creating a supportive environment for startups and entrepreneurship, particularly among the youth.

Both sides explored measures to strengthen institutional mechanisms and streamline administrative processes for faster and more effective implementation of development projects. Greater coordination between the state government, NITI Aayog and other stakeholders was identified as essential for overcoming implementation bottlenecks and improving outcomes.

The meeting also underlined the importance of aligning Tripura’s development priorities with broader national strategies while taking into account the state’s specific requirements and opportunities.

The interaction assumes significance as Tripura continues to focus on improving infrastructure, human development and economic opportunities. Closer cooperation with NITI Aayog is expected to help the state address implementation challenges, strengthen policy support and ensure that centrally sponsored programmes translate into tangible improvements in the lives of people.

The discussions reflected a shared commitment to accelerating Tripura’s development through better coordination, effective governance and focused support for key growth sectors.
