Agartala, June 4: West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar has detailed the extensive preparations being undertaken ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s two-day visit to Tripura, emphasizing that the state administration and security agencies are working in close coordination to ensure the successful execution of all scheduled programmes.

According to Dr. Kumar, the Union Home Minister is set to arrive in Agartala on Thursday evening and will stay overnight in the state capital. His visit is expected to include a mix of administrative engagements, security reviews, developmental initiatives, and religious activities, reflecting the importance of Tripura in the Centre’s broader governance and development agenda.

One of the major highlights of Shah’s visit will take place on June 5, when he will lay the foundation stone for the upcoming five-star hotel, “Taj Pushpavanta Palace,” a prestigious hospitality project being developed by the Tata Group. The project, which will come up on Agartala’s historic Pushpabanta Palace grounds, is expected to boost tourism, create employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to the state’s economic growth.

The District Magistrate further informed that the Home Minister is scheduled to hold a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the state government, central security agencies, and other concerned departments. The discussions are expected to focus on key issues such as border management, internal security, law and order, and the overall security environment in the state.

As part of his itinerary, Shah will also visit areas in West Tripura district to assess border security arrangements and review the functioning of security forces deployed along the international border. He may interact directly with officers and personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) to gain firsthand insights into operational challenges and preparedness.

Adding a cultural and spiritual dimension to the visit, the Union Home Minister will also offer prayers at the revered Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the most significant religious sites in the region.

“The administration has already taken comprehensive steps, and every department is working in coordination to ensure that each programme is conducted seamlessly,” Dr. Vishal Kumar said, underscoring the scale of preparations and the importance of the high-profile visit.
