Agartala, June 4: In an innovative step to promote tourism and showcase the state’s rich cultural and natural heritage, the Tripura Tourism Department has launched the “Focus Tripura Reel Making Contest”, inviting citizens, content creators, photographers, and travel enthusiasts to create engaging short video reels highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of the state.

The contest, being organized in collaboration with the MyGov platform, aims to harness the power of digital storytelling and social media to boost awareness about Tripura’s tourist attractions among a wider audience. Participants can register and submit their entries through the official portal, tripura.mygov.in, from June 3 to July 3, 2026.

Officials from the Tourism Department said the initiative seeks to encourage people to explore and creatively present Tripura’s diverse destinations, including its scenic landscapes, historical monuments, temples, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, waterfalls, and vibrant tribal culture. Through visually appealing and informative reels, participants will have the opportunity to tell compelling stories about the state and help bring its tourism potential to the forefront.

According to tourism authorities, the contest forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen Tripura’s tourism sector through digital engagement and innovative promotional campaigns. With short-form video content gaining immense popularity across social media platforms, the department hopes the initiative will generate greater interest among domestic and international travelers.

“Digital content has become one of the most effective ways to inspire travel decisions. Through this contest, we want people to capture the essence of Tripura and share it with the world. It is not only a platform for creativity but also an opportunity to contribute to the promotion of the state as a preferred travel destination,” a tourism official said.

The department believes that user-generated content can play a vital role in highlighting both well-known tourist sites and hidden gems that often remain unexplored. By encouraging public participation, the campaign aims to create authentic and relatable travel narratives that resonate with audiences across different regions.

The launch of the Focus Tripura Reel Making Contest reflects the state government’s growing emphasis on leveraging technology, creativity, and community participation to promote tourism and position the sector as a key driver of economic growth and employment generation in Tripura.
