Khattar’s visit to Tripura forms part of his three-day tour of the eastern and northeastern region, which also includes Mizoram and West Bengal. The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on enhancing infrastructure and development initiatives in the region.

Soon after his arrival, the Union Minister participated in programmes marking the sixth anniversary of the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. During the event, he interacted with beneficiaries from across the Northeastern states and reviewed the impact of the flagship scheme on improving the livelihoods of street vendors.

Later, Khattar held a series of meetings with senior officials of the Tripura government and the Power Department. Discussions focused on the status of power infrastructure projects, grid modernization initiatives, and ongoing rural electrification efforts aimed at ensuring reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply across the state.

Reviewing the progress of various power sector projects, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening energy infrastructure to meet growing demand and support economic growth.

State Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath highlighted that continued support from the Central Government would play a crucial role in improving power delivery systems and achieving Tripura’s long-term development goals.
