The large-scale dispersal covered all 28 seats of the council. Officials confirmed that polling will be held on April 12 from 7 a.m. across 1,257 polling stations spread throughout the state. To ensure the integrity of the electoral process, security forces, including state police and central paramilitary units, have been deployed in adequate numbers. Polling teams were escorted to their destinations, with special attention given to the safe transportation of EVMs and other election-related equipment.

In the Birchandra Kalsi constituency (Seat No. 26), Returning Officer Shanti Ranjan Chakma stated that all preparations have been completed. The constituency comprises 45 polling stations catering to a total of 37,526 voters, including 18,890 women and 18,636 men.

Similarly, in the Damcherra–Jampui (Seat No. 1) and Dasda–Kanchanpur (Seat No. 3) constituencies, polling staff departed from the Kanchanpur Higher Secondary School grounds. Returning Officer Ashish Biswas confirmed that these two constituencies together account for 103 polling stations and 85,933 registered voters.

Polling materials were also dispatched in the 9-Halahali–Asharambari (ST) and 12-Ramchandraghat (ST) constituencies, with teams moving in an organized manner under armed escort. Given the challenging terrain and remote hill areas in several parts of the state, polling personnel began their journey early to ensure timely arrival at their designated booths.

Authorities highlighted that polling stations have been carefully categorized based on sensitivity and vulnerability. Accordingly, security forces have been strategically deployed to maintain law and order and to instill confidence among voters.

The administration has reiterated its commitment to conducting the elections in a free, fair and transparent manner. Counting of votes is scheduled for April 17, and results are expected to be declared on the same day.
