TBSE President Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury made the announcement on Monday, acknowledging that the issue has remained unresolved for years despite repeated appeals from members of the teaching community. He said the proposed committee will conduct a detailed review of the existing honorarium structure and submit its recommendations to the Board for further consideration.

“Teachers have consistently raised concerns regarding the honorarium provided for evaluation duties. The Board has now decided to address the matter with due seriousness,” Dr. Chowdhury stated, adding that the move reflects TBSE’s commitment to supporting educators and recognising their crucial role in maintaining academic standards.

Meanwhile, the Board is preparing for the upcoming annual examinations. The Higher Secondary Examination is scheduled to commence on February 25, followed by the Secondary Examination on February 26. Dr. Chowdhury assured that all necessary administrative and security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the examinations. Enhanced monitoring mechanisms have also been introduced for the storage and distribution of question papers to prevent any irregularities.

Regarding the Kokborok language examination, the TBSE President clarified that question papers will be printed in Bengali, but students will be allowed to write their answers in any script of their choice. He emphasised that the evaluation process will be conducted fairly and without discrimination.

The announcement has generated optimism among teachers, who have long sought a revision of remuneration in line with their increasing responsibilities and workload during board examinations.
