A tragic industrial accident occurred at Kamalpur on Tuesday when the chimney of ABC Brick Industry suddenly collapsed, claiming the lives of three persons and leaving four others injured. The incident triggered panic in the area, with local residents and workers rushing to the site to assist those trapped under the debris before emergency teams arrived.
According to preliminary information, the chimney gave way without warning while work was underway at the brick kiln. The massive structure crashed down on workers nearby, causing severe injuries to several of them. Three workers succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while four others were rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be serious.
Soon after the incident, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police reached the site and launched rescue and relief operations. Heavy machinery was pressed into service to clear debris and ensure that no one remained trapped under the collapsed structure.
