Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday underscored the immense social and humanitarian value of blood donation, calling it one of the purest acts of service to humanity and, in turn, to God. Citing Swami Vivekananda’s words, “He who loves living beings serves God,” the minister said that blood donation is a noble responsibility that only humans can fulfill to save precious lives.

Chowdhury was speaking at a blood donation camp organized by the staff of Jirania Police Station ahead of the Shyama Puja celebrations on November 19. Addressing the gathering, he lauded the donors for their meaningful contribution, emphasizing that such voluntary initiatives play a crucial role in meeting the state’s emergency blood requirements.

He urged people from all walks of life to actively participate in blood donation drives, noting that collective efforts are essential to ensuring timely availability of blood for patients in critical need.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, the minister thanked all the donors for their selfless service and encouraged them to motivate others to join the cause. He reiterated that regular blood donation not only strengthens healthcare support systems but also reflects the true spirit of compassion and social responsibility.
