Agartala, Oct 10: Senior IAS officer Dr. Sailesh Kumar Yadav, CEO of Agartala Smart City Ltd and Managing Director of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC), has once again drawn controversy after a city-based doctor accused him of verbal abuse and unprofessional conduct during an official meeting.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Dr. Tamojit Nath, a practicing physician, detailed his alleged harassment at Yadav’s office on September 4, 2025. Dr. Nath stated that he had gone to meet Yadav at 4:30 p.m. with a prior appointment to seek guidance regarding a land allotment at Barjala for establishing a hospital in Agartala.
According to Dr. Nath, soon after he began explaining the purpose of his visit, Yadav interrupted him and began shouting using abusive language. “He said things like ‘Kaha se hero ban ke aa jate hain’ and ‘Kis gadhe ke paas tune apply kiya hain’ before demanding documents,” the letter read.
Dr. Nath alleged that Yadav insulted both him and his colleague Dr. Manimoy Debbarma, refused to listen to them, and ordered them to leave his chamber, shouting, “Mere paas tumhare liye faltu time nahi hain.” He further claimed that Yadav followed them outside, continuing to yell “unparliamentary words.”
Calling the incident “deeply humiliating,” Dr. Nath urged the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to initiate disciplinary action against Yadav and demanded a formal apology.
Yadav, who holds an MBBS degree himself, previously made headlines in 2021 when he was accused of misbehaviour during wedding raids in Agartala while serving as District Magistrate. His repeated outbursts have sparked renewed debate over the conduct and accountability of senior civil servants in the state.
