Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday announced a 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners as a festive season bonanza ahead of Durga Puja. The revision will come into effect from October 1, 2025.
The announcement was made during the concluding session of the eighth sitting of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly. At around 9:30 p.m., while delivering his concluding remarks, Dr. Saha fulfilled the expectations of employees and pensioners by declaring the long-awaited hike.
According to the Chief Minister, the decision will benefit 1,05,739 employees and 84,342 pensioners. To implement this measure, the state will require an additional expenditure of approximately Rs. 125 crore. He highlighted that since the formation of the BJP-led government, the DA and DR rates have been revised several times, steadily narrowing the gap with the Central government’s scale.
Previously, the present government had granted a total of 33 percent DA/DR, of which 30 percent was sanctioned under Dr. Saha’s leadership. With the latest announcement, the overall DA now stands at 36 percent, offering significant financial relief to state employees and retirees during the festive season.
Besides the DA/DR declaration, Dr. Saha also participated in discussions on multiple issues of public importance during the session. He expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the House proceedings and extended gratitude to all members for their cooperation.
Before the House was adjourned sine-die, the Chief Minister conveyed his Puja greetings to the people of Tripura. He wished for peace, prosperity, and the continued growth of the state, underscoring the government’s commitment to welfare-oriented initiatives that directly impact citizens.
