Udaipur, Aug 8: Acting on a tip-off, Udaipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nirman Das led a successful raid at the residence of a youth named Prosenjit Debnath in Ward No. 4 of Chandrapur Village Panchayat. The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotic substances allegedly being used for illegal trade.

According to police sources, Prosenjit Debnath had been under the scanner for a while following reports that he had been selling narcotics from his residence. Upon receiving specific intelligence, a team from Radhakishorepur Police Station, under the supervision of SDPO Das, conducted a swift and strategic raid at his house.

During the search, police recovered a substantial amount of narcotic materials from the premises. Though the exact quantity and nature of the substances are yet to be disclosed, officials confirmed that the seizure is significant and indicates a well-established supply operation.

Initial investigations suggest that Debnath had been involved in the illegal trade for an extended period, allegedly operating from his own home and distributing to nearby areas. Police have initiated legal proceedings, and Debnath is likely to be booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

SDPO Nirman Das lauded the efforts of the police team and reiterated the department’s commitment to eliminating the drug menace from the region. “This is part of our ongoing crackdown on illegal narcotics. Such activities will not be tolerated, and we will continue to act swiftly on all credible information,” he said.

The raid has sent a strong message to others involved in similar illegal activities. Authorities are now tracing the supply chain to identify more people connected to the racket.
