Agartala: August 05: In a bid to highlight the achievements and ongoing initiatives of both central and state governments for the holistic development of tribal communities in Tripura, the Pradesh BJP Janajati Morcha is set to organize a grand public rally on August 9, 2025, marking International Indigenous People’s Day.
To ensure widespread participation, public outreach and awareness campaigns are actively underway across tribal-dominated areas of the state. As part of this drive, the Mungiakami Shakti Kendra under the 29-Krishnapur Mandal hosted a special market gathering on Tuesday.
Minister for Tribal Welfare, Bikash Debbarma, addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker. He said, “The development works carried out by the BJP government in the tribal belts over the past few years are unmatched in the last 35 years of governance. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, government benefits have reached even the most remote hill villages.”
He further emphasized that previously neglected tribal families are now experiencing real improvements in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, potable water, housing, and employment. The Minister also noted that the upcoming rally will act as a platform to expand awareness of the government’s people-centric policies and development models.
Also present at the event were Krishnapur Mandal vice-president Gopal Das, MDC Bidyut Debbarma, and other local leaders, who echoed the Minister’s call for strong participation in the upcoming rally.
All speakers underlined the socioeconomic strides made by tribal communities in recent years and urged people to come forward and join the August 9 rally, which aims to celebrate indigenous identity and continued progress under the current administration.
