AGARTALA, July 11 – In a major push toward digital governance, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched a suite of citizen-centric services through Common Service Centers (CSCs), marking the 16th anniversary of CSCs across India. The launch event was held at Sukanta Academy in Agartala and highlighted the government’s commitment to accessible and inclusive public services.

The initiative, developed in collaboration with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, was inaugurated by Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder in the presence of Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, and other dignitaries.

Among the newly introduced services are digital life certificates for pensioners and online property tax payment—services aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and reducing the need for physical visits to municipal offices.

“CSCs serve as digital bridges connecting the government with citizens, especially in remote and underserved areas,” said Mayor Majumder. “With AMC services now integrated into CSCs, we are bringing governance directly to the people’s doorsteps.”

Tripura currently has over 2,675 registered CSCs, with 1,478 actively operational as of January 2022. These centers already provide a wide array of essential services including Aadhaar enrollment, passport applications, birth and death certificates, ration cards, pension details, insurance services, and PAN card processing.

The event also recognized the vital role of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), who power the CSC ecosystem and ensure last-mile service delivery across the state.

“This collaboration marks a significant step in Tripura’s digital transformation journey,” added the Mayor. “It promises faster service delivery, improved transparency, and enhanced citizen engagement.”

Citizens are encouraged to locate their nearest CSC by visiting the Directorate of Information Technology website and selecting their district for service availability.
