The girl first visited Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital on December 23, 2024, with multiple health complaints. After medical evaluation, doctors collected a sputum sample, which confirmed a TB infection. She was assured by doctors that TB is completely curable with timely and consistent treatment and was briefed about the standard six-month treatment plan.

Initially given a two-day course of TB medication, she was referred to the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in East Kalyanpur, where she began full treatment on January 1, 2025. The treatment, supervised by local health staff, was provided entirely free of cost.

Throughout her recovery journey, the girl benefited from the government’s Nikshay Poshan Yojana, receiving Rs. 1,000 per month and monthly food baskets delivered to her home. These efforts ensured she could maintain proper nutrition and medication adherence during the entire course of treatment.

Key healthcare workers involved in her care included MPM Bipul Debbarma, Community Health Officer Shilpi Sarkar, MPW Anup Goswami, and ASHA worker Usha Bala Sarkar. Their collective efforts ensured she followed the treatment plan without interruption.

Her treatment was officially completed on June 17, 2025, and she has now been declared TB-free. Both the patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical team and the government for their dedicated care and timely support.

Her recovery highlights the critical role of accessible healthcare and community-based intervention in combating TB and achieving the goal of a TB-free India.
