Agartala: June 03: On the second consecutive day, Tripura MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb personally visited several flood relief shelters in West Tripura district and distributed food packets to those affected by the recent heavy rainfall and flooding. On Tuesday, Deb handed out approximately 950 food packets to flood-hit families as part of his personal initiative to support those in distress.

The state has been witnessing severe monsoon-induced flooding, prompting many residents to take shelter in relief camps. MP Deb visited five major shelter homes, including Pratapgarh Rishidas Para English Medium School, Pratapgarh Ramkrishna Sangha, Agartala Hindi School, Durgachowmuhani Bipani Bitan, and Jagatpur Youth Star Club. These shelters are housing families displaced by the floods.

The distributed food kits contained essential items including 5 kg rice, 500 grams lentils, mustard cooking oil, a packet of soybeans, 500 grams onions, 500 grams potatoes, salt, and biscuits. The relief effort was met with gratitude by the flood-affected residents, who welcomed the support during this difficult time.

Residents expressed appreciation for the timely assistance, saying that the provision of essential supplies eased some of the hardships brought on by the natural disaster. The MP emphasized the importance of standing with the people in times of crisis and reaffirmed his commitment to extending all possible help until the situation stabilizes.

Biplab Deb’s proactive engagement and on-ground presence have sent a strong message of solidarity and responsiveness, as the administration continues its relief and rehabilitation efforts across flood-affected regions of the state.
