The first round of online admissions will continue until May 30. The merit list for the first round will be published on the respective college websites on June 11. The entire admission process is being conducted in line with guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Education and Tripura University.

“This year, the system allows each student to apply to a maximum of four colleges and choose two major subjects per college based on their preference,” Kumar explained. The second round of admissions will be held from June 21 to June 25, 2025. Colleges with vacant seats after the second round will initiate additional admission processes using existing merit lists.

Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma, also present at the press meet, informed that recruitment for 201 Assistant Professors and 13 Principals is currently underway through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). The state’s Finance Department has already approved the recruitment of 200 Assistant Professors and 3 Principals to strengthen faculty positions.

He further stated that the academic session for 2025–26 in all degree colleges is scheduled to begin in the first week of July, ensuring a timely start to the new academic year.

Additional Director of Higher Education Rajesh Bhattacharjee was also present at the press conference. The move to online admissions and ongoing faculty recruitment reflect the state’s commitment to modernising and strengthening higher education infrastructure in Tripura.
