According to reports, the individuals were attempting to enter India for employment in Delhi. However, it has been alleged that a human trafficking network in Bangladesh facilitated their illegal entry into India for a fee of 15,000 Bangladeshi Taka. The group was reportedly smuggled through a culvert beneath the border fencing near Pathariadar, evading Border Security Force (BSF) surveillance.

After spending the night in the area, they were noticed by local residents in the morning, who promptly alerted Madhupur Police. Authorities then detained the individuals and initiated further inquiries.

Preliminary findings indicate that the group belongs to the same family from Kurigram District in the Rangpur Division of Bangladesh. The detained individuals have been identified as Monir Khan, his wife Saheba Khatun, their sons Shahjalal Khan and Swadhin Khan, and their daughter-in-law Dulali Khatun. While early suspicions point to a Bangladeshi trafficking network, authorities are also investigating potential involvement of individuals within India.

The police investigation is ongoing and is expected to shed further light on the circumstances of their entry. The incident has drawn attention in the local community, highlighting concerns regarding border security and human trafficking activities.
