Agartala: May 16: Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated a rubber plantation on one hectare of land belonging to Haricharan Debbarma in East Noagaon, under Mohanpur sub-division, on Friday. The initiative is part of the micro watershed project aimed at improving agricultural sustainability and income generation.

The event saw the presence of SLN CEO Sharadindu Das, agricultural officers from Hejamara, representatives of the Sidhai police, and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Nath reiterated the state government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ income, stating that the goal is not just to double but to triple farmers’ earnings through improved support systems. He noted that under the BJP government, farmers have benefited from increased revenue and expanded access to agricultural training centers and advanced technology.

“This progress has led to mutual benefits for both the farmers and the government,” said the minister, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration and innovation in the sector.

In addition to agricultural issues, Minister Nath addressed national concerns, condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

He also criticized the CPI(M) in West Bengal for opposing Operation Sindoor, an Indian military response to the attack. Minister Nath accused the CPI(M) of lacking nationalist values, alleging their support for Pakistan and China. He cited historical instances, including the China-India war, during which the CPI(M) allegedly sided with China, claiming India provoked the conflict.

The minister’s statements highlighted both the state’s agricultural advancements and his strong stance on national security and patriotism.
