Agartala:May 03: The Sadar District Congress organized a protest today, raising concerns about healthcare infrastructure in the state. Party workers and supporters marched through the city, calling for the resignation of the Chief Minister and Health Minister, and submitted a deputation to the Director of the Health Department.
During the demonstration, a Congress leader criticized the state government, alleging a decline in healthcare services, including corruption in medical examinations, shortages of doctors and nurses, and inadequate treatment leading to patient fatalities. He further claimed that the condition of GB Hospital has prompted numerous complaints from the public.
Additionally, concerns were raised about hospital infrastructure, citing a recent incident in which a ceiling fan fell on a patient. The protestors highlighted staffing shortages in hospitals and emphasized the need for immediate reforms.
The demonstration is part of an ongoing effort by the Sadar District Congress to address issues in the healthcare sector, with party representatives urging corrective measures and accountability from the government.
