Disable woman Gang Rape case: one arrested

Agartala: Mar 19: In a pathetic incident, a disable woman from Jogendra nagar was gang-raped by her husband and five of his friends . After receiving the complaint Police arrested the accused husband .

According to the details of the incident, 75 percent of the disabled women were gang-raped by her husband’s  five friends with the help of her husband. The abused woman filed a written complaint at Amtali women’s police station on March 14 alleging this. Taking the complaint into consideration, the police started an investigation and arrested the accused husband. The rest have not been arrested yet. The arrested person is Subrata Dey, a resident of Jogendra Nagar.

Based on the woman’s statement, the police have registered a case against the six perpetrators under Sections 64(2)(d) (Rape), 70(1) (Gang Rape), 115(2) (Voluntary Hurt) and 3(5) (Criminal Act Committed by Several People with Common Intent) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita
