Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, and Gomati District Magistrate, among others, attended a preparatory meeting on Friday at the Matabari office. Minister Pranjit Singh Roy indicated that various departments would complete their tasks by March 20, and the location for the plaque with the Prime Minister’s name has been identified.

In addressing the issue of maintaining the sanctity of the temple, Minister Roy emphasized that the preparation of non-vegetarian food items, such as fish, meat, and eggs, in hotels and restaurants around the temple will be regulated. Vegetarian food will be made compulsory in certain areas around the temple, and the District Magistrate is determining the extent of this regulation.

There have been discussions on social media regarding the color change of the Tripura Sundari temple. Minister Pranjit Singh Roy dismissed these claims, stating that the temple’s color cannot be changed without divine will. He referred to those spreading the rumors as atheists who do not believe in religion.

Minister Roy also mentioned that anti-social activities that previously occurred on the Matabari premises would no longer be tolerated. Efforts will be made to protect the temple’s sanctity, given the influx of tourists and pilgrims to Matabari.

Representatives from various linguistic groups attended the event, dressed in traditional attire, showcasing their culture and traditions. Additionally, students from schools and colleges performed songs in Bengali, Kokborok, and Hindi languages.
