Agartala: Dec 20: A Co-operative Conference-2024 will be held at the Rabindra Satyabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala on December 22. Union Home and Co-operative Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest at the event. Minister for Co-operatives Shuklacharan Noatia announced this news at a press conference at the Secretariat today. He mentioned that the United Nations has declared 2025 as the International Year of Co-operatives. During his visit to the state, Amit Shah will not only attend the Co-operative Conference but will also chair the 72nd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC).

The conference at Rabindra Satyabarshiki Bhawan will begin at 2:00 PM, with the main event scheduled for 3:30 PM. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, Member of Parliament from West Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumdar, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Co-operatives Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, and State Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha will also attend the event.

 

Minister Noatia highlighted that the conference will see participation from board members of various state co-operatives, senior officials from agricultural organizations, co-operative employees, and officials from the Co-operative Department and other state departments. He further mentioned that to showcase the achievements of the co-operative sector and raise awareness among the public, 18 stalls will be set up at the conference.

 

The event will include the launch of a mobile van by the National Co-operative Consumers Federation Limited (NCCF) for the ‘India Brand,’ and another mobile van for Rural Mart by NABARD. The Tripura State Co-operative Bank will distribute 50 micro ATMs to primary co-operative societies. Virtual inaugurations will include a new petrol pump in Udaipur, a consumer store in Dhala district, a fertilizer sale center in Mohanpur, and a smart training center in Arundhutinagar.

 

Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the National Co-operative Organic Federation Limited (NCOF) and the Tripura State Organic Development Agency.
