Agartala: Dec 07: A group of STGT (Secondary Teacher Graduate Training) job aspirants staged a protest in front of City Center, demanding the immediate publication of results and a combined recruitment process. The candidates are frustrated over the delay in the release of results for the STGT exam conducted in 2022. Despite the passage of two years since the exam, the West Bengal Education Department has not yet announced the results.

One of the candidates shared that despite multiple attempts to get a response from the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) regarding the matter, no concrete answer has been provided. The recruitment process, which was expected to follow shortly after the examination, remains on hold. The candidates claim that the government initially stated that the delay was due to legal issues, but now that the legal concerns have been resolved, the TRB has still not proceeded with the completion of the recruitment process.

In their protest, the aspirants carried placards demanding the immediate release of the results, highlighting the urgency of the situation. They also voiced their concerns about the ongoing teacher shortage in state schools, which is severely affecting the education system. Many schools are facing an acute shortage of teachers, and students have been resorting to road blockages, demanding the recruitment of teachers. Despite these visible signs of distress, the state government has not taken adequate steps to address the issue.

The protestors are now calling on the authorities to act swiftly and finalize the recruitment process, ensuring that qualified candidates are appointed and the teacher shortage is alleviated to improve the education system in the state.
