Addressing the media, a leader said that it has come to light through social media that the state government has decided to build a five-star hotel at the old palace in Agartala. But development cannot be achieved by erasing history.

He further added that Ujjayanta Palace is an ancient royal palace of Tripura. The Left Front government had tried to erase Tripura’s history. All the castes and tribes want development of Tripura but no one has the right to erase history. Therefore, he appealed to the entire state to come forward and join the protest.
