Agartala: Nov 19: Munmun Sen has lost her husband, Bharat Debbarma, the father of her daughters Raima and Riya Sen. Bharat passed away on Tuesday morning after suddenly falling ill. He was rushed to a private hospital in Dhakuria, but unfortunately, he passed away before the ambulance could arrive. Raima Sen confirmed the news of his death through a WhatsApp message from Delhi, and it is believed that he succumbed to a heart attack.
Bharat Debbarma was a member of the royal family of Tripura. He married Munmun Sen in 1978, and their daughter Raima was born a year later. Two years after Raima’s birth, Riya came into their lives. After marriage and motherhood, Munmun started her acting career and became one of the leading actresses of the 1980s. She made a significant mark in both Hindi and Bengali cinema.
In 2014, Munmun entered politics, joining the Trinamool Congress and winning the Lok Sabha elections from Bankura. She served as a Member of Parliament, while Bharat stood by her side throughout her career, both in acting and politics. To their daughters, he was always the “best dad.”
Raima Sen had shared multiple pictures of her father on social media on his birthday, September 28. In her heartfelt tribute, she wrote, “Happy Birthday, Dad, you made all our dreams come true. Thank you for still being the fun-loving and loving dad you are. May your sense of humor and smile remain intact forever.” Raima also called him the “Original Rockstar” and posted pictures on Father’s Day, expressing her love for him.
Bharat Debbarma’s death marks a profound loss for Munmun, Raima, Riya, and their family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father.
