Agartala, October 15:  In a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club, Bustang Tripura, Secretary of the original NLFT group, clarified that the organization cannot be held responsible for any individuals misusing the name of NLFT to collect funds illegally or engage in coercive acts. He emphasized that such individuals would be personally accountable for their actions.

Bustang Tripura provided a brief history of the NLFT, stating that the militant organization was formed in 1989 and split into two factions in 2000. He joined the organization in 2005 and assumed significant responsibilities following the death of NLFT President Nayan Kumar Jamatia.

He also mentioned ongoing discussions with the central government regarding a peace treaty, which have been in progress for many years. Despite numerous challenges, the central government accepted all their demands on September 4.
