Agartala: August 28: In the wake of devastating floods in Tripura, Tipra Motha, despite claiming to champion tribal welfare, has yet to actively support flood-affected communities. While other political parties, organizations, and individuals have stepped forward to assist victims, Tipra Motha’s absence during this crisis has raised concerns.

The flood has impacted people from all communities, including tribes, with a significant loss of life among tribal members. However, Tipra Motha’s lack of visible action has drawn criticism.

Ironically, on Wednesday, Tipra Motha held a press conference condemning an incident in Durgaganj, Ranir Bazar, which occurred on August 25th. Shah Alam, chairman of the minority cell within Tipra Motha, emphasized Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya’s role as the architect of modern Tripura. The incident in Ranir Bazar resulted in damage to 18-20 houses and personal property, estimated at 1 crore 30 lakh rupees.

Alam demanded that both the state and central governments address this matter promptly, compensate for losses, and take legal action against those responsible. Other Tipra Motha leaders, including Mevar Kumar Jamatia, were also present at the press conference.
