Agartala: July 18: A large procession was organized in West Tripura to submit the nominations of BJP candidates for the upcoming Tristar Panchayat elections. The procession began at Rabindra Bhavan and traversed various city roads before reaching the office of the West District Governor.
Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha, State BJP President Rajeev Bhattacharya, Agartala Pur Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder, and other dignitaries participated in the event.
Goswami announced that 17 BJP-nominated candidates would file their nominations for the West District Council. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to village development and expressed confidence in winning the support of the people. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to address long-standing issues in rural areas, which he attributed to the previous Left regime.
BJP Zilla Parishad candidate Zainal Das stated that the public has strong faith in the BJP government, predicting that opposition candidates would lose their security deposits in the elections. He reiterated the government’s dedication to meeting the basic needs of villagers under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Das also remarked that the opposition’s inability to field candidates was not the BJP’s responsibility, suggesting a lack of public support for the opposition parties.
