Agartala, July 03: The number of illegal crossings continues to rise in the state, with 11 more Bangladeshi illegal immigrants arrested by railway police. The apprehension took place at Agartala Badarghat railway station on Tuesday.
According to a police official, the 11 Bangladeshi nationals, including a minor, had entered India from Bangladesh with the intention of traveling to different parts of the country. They were en route to various states via Agartala railway station.
During the arrest, authorities seized smartphones, various Bangladeshi documents, and Indian currency from the group. The suspects were produced in court on Wednesday, and the police have requested remand to further investigate any potential connections with previous intruders.
This incident follows a similar arrest of 11 Bangladeshi nationals at the same railway station just two days prior. The frequent occurrence of such illegal crossings has raised concerns about national security and the safety of border areas.
